The company Gebr. Willach GmbH was established in 1889 by Hugo and Otto Willach. In the first few decades the business specialised in the production and sale of locks and fittings.
Between 1950 and 1980 we moved on to developing and manufacturing all sorts of products for fitting out shops, for example modular shelving systems for supermarkets.
In the 1970s and 1980s, we focused our attention more on specialist shop-fitting products, which led to the creation of the pharmacy and glass fittings divisions that are so successful today.
In 1963, we took our first steps in the pharmacy market with the production of sliding cabinets.
In 1969, we launched the FAMA pharmacy drawer system, continually developing the concept over the decades until it reached the world-leading design you see today.
Since 2005, we've been manufacturing shelving systems for pharmacies and medical areas under the FAMA brand.
In 1986, we launched our world-leading Supra glass fittings programme.
Since 2009, the cushioned all-glass sliding door fitting Portavant has set a new benchmark for the glass fitting industry. All glass fitting products are sold by Gebr. Willach GmbH under the VITRIS brand.
In 1996, we launched the first of our automated storage solutions for pharmacies under the CONSIS brand. Today, CONSIS pharmacy robots are among the world's most advanced dispensing solutions of their kind.
On occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Willach Group, its story has been documented in a corporate history. Historical documents and photos as well as an explanatory text provide an insight into all four generations of the family business.
